Solo Dating Challenge, Episode 6: Dinner and Journaling

For this solo date, I decided to go to Juicy Crab for dinner and journaling.
It was Sunday March 29th, and I knew if this solo date didn’t happen on that day, I wouldn’t be able to do it during the week. This was one of those last-minute plans that just had to be done….
And once again, it was so much fun!
I had been looking rough for the past few days, so I decided to get dolled up as a pick me up. Something about getting dressed up and super cute just puts me in a great mood.
I started off looking like a gremlin and transformed into the beautiful princess I know I am.
This date was more about spending time reflecting than anything else. The weeks leading up to this date had been eventful to say the least…. Moments I’m not yet ready to share.
The whole vibe for this date was: she’s just a little princess.
I wanted to tap into my femininity for real.
My go to style when I want to feel ultra feminine is a half up half down with bangs and that’s exactly what I did. I added some curls to my wig to make it even more romantic and sweet.
Next, I wore this beautiful sweater I got from the clearance rack at Walmart, with a simple pair of jeans, clear heels, and this fun beaded bag from TJ Maxx. Simple, but feminine.
My little sister works at the restaurant, so I went and requested her as my waitress. And true to sisterly style, she gave me great service with a dash of unprofessionalism…. Just how I would love to interact with my sister at her job lol.
I sat down and once I was settled, I pulled out my little pink journal and started writing. I wasn’t able to finish my journal entry, but it was nice to sit down somewhere, in the midst of people living their lives, and I was still able to have a moment of reflection.
You know how in some videos, there’s one person standing still in the middle of a huge crowd and everything and everyone around them is going around fast while they stand still? That’s how that moment felt for me.
One lesson I took from this date is that life goes on no matter what you’re going through. It’s up to you to create your moments of stillness and quiet in the midst of your grief, your pain, your anger, your questions. We have so much more power than we realize.
